Senior Associate, Michael P. Siravo, Achieves Successful Trial Verdict.

Senior Associate, Michael P. Siravo, recently successfully defended a national trucking and transportation company and its employee driver in a Trial conducted in Supreme Court, Kings County. At Trial, the plaintiff, a 23 year old woman, submitted a significant body of evidence supporting her claim that she sustained serious facial trauma and deformity requiring surgery, and that said injuries were permanent in nature. Through skilled cross-examination, Mr. Siravo was able to refute the plaintiff's claims and cast serious doubt on the credibility of both the plaintiff, and her expert witness.

At the conclusion of the Trial, the plaintiff asked the jury to return an award of $650,000 for both past pain and suffering and future pain and suffering. Conversely, Mr. Siravo argued that the evidence did not support an award for future pain and suffering, as there had been no credible evidence that the plaintiff had sustained injuries of a permanent nature. The jury agreed. The plaintiff was awarded a mere $40,000.00 for past pain and suffering and $0.00 for future pain and suffering.
