Brian T. McCarthy is a graduate of Villanova University (B.A. cum laude 1997) and Hofstra University School of Law (J.D. 2000). He is a member of the Bar of the State of New York, and is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the Southern District of Texas.
Prior to joining Chalos O'Connor, Mr. McCarthy was an Assistant District Attorney at the New York County District Attorney's Office for three and a half years. During that time, he successfully tried numerous cases and conducted many long term investigations. He successfully investigated misconduct by members of the District Attorney's Office and New York City Police Department, as well as matters involving the Federal Bureau of Investigation-New York City Police Department Joint Terrorism Task Force. Mr. McCarthy obtained a top count conviction in the People of the State of New York v. Rocco Graziosa, in which former New York Yankees pitcher David Wells was the victim of an assault.
Mr. McCarthy's current practice includes maritime criminal defense, maritime civil litigation, environmental litigation, and insurance defense.
