Alfred C. Constants III is a partner with over thirty years of civil and criminal trial and litigation experience. He is a 1974 graduate of the University of Notre Dame. Mr. Constants obtained his law degree from the Washington College of Law at the American University in 1978 where he was a Senior Editor on the Law Review.

Just prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Constants spent fifteen years with Fireman's Fund Insurance Company where he practiced insurance law. Mr. Constants represented Fireman's Fund in declaratory judgment actions, administrative hearings and arbitrations along the East Coast including Florida, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont and New Hampshire. Mr. Constants rendered coverage advice on the following lines of business: personal, property, commercial, professional, E & O, specialty, marine and agriculture. He successfully represented the Company in a $44 million intellectual property advertising matter that arose out of a bankruptcy proceeding.

Mr. Constants had been a partner at the law firm of Carella Bryne in Roseland, New Jersey where he specialized in commercial and civil litigation. During his eleven years with that firm, he represented various clients, such as the Archdiocese as well as a chemical company in all aspects of environmental law including administrative actions, state and federal litigation, insurance declaratory judgment actions, as well as product liability claims against a chemical company. He represented banks in commercial litigation and security fraud. He tried a number of medical malpractice cases and represented individual plaintiffs in a toxic tort case.

Mr. Constants first started his legal career at the Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C. He was a staff attorney in the Mobile Source Enforcement Unit for six months before returning to New Jersey to become an Assistant Prosecutor. Mr. Constants spent over five years as an Assistant Prosecutor, first in Morris County, then in Essex County, where he obtained significant trial experience. The highlight of his prosecutor's career came when he tried two death penalty cases - State v. Montori and State v. King, both of which resulted in successful convictions.

Mr. Constants is admitted to practice in the State of New York; the State of New Jersey; the State of Maryland; the District of Columbia; the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, New Jersey; the Court of Appeals for the Third District.
